Trisha Herlihy developed a passion for photography at the age of eight. Inspired by her aunt Sharon who took family photos as one of her hobbies. Trisha quickly drew an appreciation for the close-up intimate quality in her aunt's images, that she didn't see in friends family photos.
She got her first camera at the age of ten, a Kodak 110 point and shoot. While the quality left much to be desired for her taste, she never lost the love or being able to record her surroundings, and people in her life.

Trisha's Personal Bests : Trisha Herlihy developed a passion for photography at the age of eight. Inspired by her aunt Sharon who took family photos as one of her hobbies. Trisha quickly drew an appreciation for the close-up intimate quality in her aunt's images, that she didn't see in friends family photos. She got her first camera at the age of ten, a Kodak 110 point and shoot. While the quality left much to be desired for her taste, she never lost the love or being able to record her surroundings, and people in her life. In High School, she enrolled in an all boys graphics class, because she heard there was a black & white darkroom in it. She quickly won over her teacher, whom let her stray from the class sylabus, and conduct a more individual study program, where she experimented with the basics of exposure and printing black &white enlargements. She had found her lifes calling. Upon graduating High School in South Florida, where she grew up, her parents gave her the graduation gift of a "real" camera, with two additional lenses.Now she was able to get in closer to her subjects, and create the intimate quality of close-up photography, she had admired some ten years earlier. After High School, she attended Broward Community College, majoring in Photography.She was lucky enough to land under the guide of Richard VomSaal. He studied under Jerry Uelsman, one of Trisha's favorite Photo Artist. Richard was both inspiring and encouraging to continue her path of study, and follow her dreams the entire two years she studied with him. After graduating with her A.A. degree she furthered her studies at The University of Florida, where she had the opportunity to study with renowned photographers Evon Streetman, and Wally Wilson. However she found herself disapointed in the lack of training and the overwhelming suggestions to change her style. She was accused of being too safe and classic, and encouraged to do more provacative, daring image, images more geared to the "Art" world. Discouraged, she began falling out of love with the media, and the college. On a Spring Break trip home, she went to Dayona Beach to check on on The Southeast Center for Photographic Studies, at Daytona Beach Community College. The following year she enrolled in the program where once again she was able to thrive in her learning of photography skills and advanced lab techniques. In Winter of 1994 she graduated the program with honors at the age of 24. She landed her first professional pjhotography job just a month later, at Orlando's Naval Base. Here she learned the challenge of doing interesting compositions with large groups of eighty or more, and making teenage kids scared to death upon entering into bootcamp, look happy and healthy in portraits to family back home. After a year on the job, notice came of the base closure. She then returned back to South Florida where she primarily did Portraiture and Event photography for the next ten years. She now can follow her own style of capturing everyday objects, in an up close intimate manner, while at the same time creating images based on descriptions of a clients needs

Planning to decorate your home with portraiture is a journey of discovery into the limitless design possibilities offered by this dramatic medium. 1. It begins with a planning session at which you and the photographer or design consultant explore your ideas and discuss creative possibilities. The portrait's overall color theme should blend with or complement the room's color palette. Trisha's Personal Bests : Trisha Herlihy developed a passion for photography at the age of eight. Inspired by her aunt Sharon who took family photos as one of her hobbies. Trisha quickly drew an appreciation for the close-up intimate quality in her aunt's images, that she didn't see in friends family photos. She got her first camera at the age of ten, a Kodak 110 point and shoot. While the quality left much to be desired for her taste, she never lost the love or being able to record her surroundings, and people in her life. In High School, she enrolled in an all boys graphics class, because she heard there was a black & white darkroom in it. She quickly won over her teacher, whom let her stray from the class sylabus, and conduct a more individual study program, where she experimented with the basics of exposure and printing black &white enlargements. She had found her lifes calling. Upon graduating High School in South Florida, where she grew up, her parents gave her the graduation gift of a "real" camera, with two additional lenses.Now she was able to get in closer to her subjects, and create the intimate quality of close-up photography, she had admired some ten years earlier. After High School, she attended Broward Community College, majoring in Photography.She was lucky enough to land under the guide of Richard VomSaal. He studied under Jerry Uelsman, one of Trisha's favorite Photo Artist. Richard was both inspiring and encouraging to continue her path of study, and follow her dreams the entire two years she studied with him. After graduating with her A.A. degree she furthered her studies at The University of Florida, where she had the opportunity to study with renowned photographers Evon Streetman, and Wally Wilson. However she found herself disapointed in the lack of training and the overwhelming suggestions to change her style. She was accused of being too safe and classic, and encouraged to do more provacative, daring image, images more geared to the "Art" world. Discouraged, she began falling out of love with the media, and the college. On a Spring Break trip home, she went to Dayona Beach to check on on The Southeast Center for Photographic Studies, at Daytona Beach Community College. The following year she enrolled in the program where once again she was able to thrive in her learning of photography skills and advanced lab techniques. In Winter of 1994 she graduated the program with honors at the age of 24. She landed her first professional pjhotography job just a month later, at Orlando's Naval Base. Here she learned the challenge of doing interesting compositions with large groups of eighty or more, and making teenage kids scared to death upon entering into bootcamp, look happy and healthy in portraits to family back home. After a year on the job, notice came of the base closure. She then returned back to South Florida where she primarily did Portraiture and Event photography for the next ten years. She now can follow her own style of capturing everyday objects, in an up close intimate manner, while at the same time creating images based on descriptions of a clients needs

profille : Trisha Herlihy was raised in a family where each of the preceding three generations had a professional photographer, though none of reputation. Albeit, Trisha says that for her generation, she’s inherited what she calls “that precious gene.” But the gene is a mixed blessing: “It demands,” she continues, “that talent must transform any God-given gifts into remarkable creations.” Native Floridian and current resident of South Florida, she dates her lifelong pursuit of photography from the gift of a Kodak 110 camera for her 8th birthday. “From then on,” she remembers, “ I was a captive of my own dream to become a photographer.” Her passion for close-up, intimate photography that “reveals the essence of the subject” actually began with her first SLR interchangeable lens system, when she began creating what, to date, amounts to thousands of client images ----portraits, weddings, military,artwork, food, pets, architecture and virtually every conceivable subject that would present new photographic challenges to broaden her base and experience in her field---challenges, techniques and skills for professional photography. She groomed herself to know all she could about imaging. A graduate of Broward Community College and later, of a two year study program with Richard Vom Saal, a former student of one of Trisha’s favorite photo artist Jerry Ueslman. To this day she believes Richard had the most profound impact on her style and love of the art.
